Woody Harrelson spotted in a wild hairdo while filming sequel Venom 2

He wowed audiences with a surprise appearance at the very end of the first film, and now he is set to headline the highly anticipated sequel, which is now filming.

Woody Harrelson was seen on the set of Venom 2 in West Oakland, near San Francisco, on Sunday, dressed in a red Hawaiian shirt and rocking a wild hairstyle in the role of Cletus Kasady.

In the post-credits scene at the end of 2018’s Venom starring Tom Hardy, Harrelson had a cameo appearance as the insane and imprisoned serial killer Kasady, and even uttered the word that will eventually become his moniker as Venom’s arch-nemesis: Carnage.

Harrelson, 58, looked a lot less foreboding on Sunday however, dressed in a red and yellow short-sleeved shirt layered over a long-sleeved white top.

His hairdo was of a strange slicked style akin to those of the T-Birds in Grease, and he was standing next to a retro-style red Mustang for the scene at a gas station — suggesting that the scene takes place at some point in the past.

One clue to Harrelson’s character’s villainous ways was the large silver skull necklace he was wearing around his neck.

Woody was also seen taking direction from legendary character actor Andy Serkis, who famously played Cesar in the Planet Of The Apes reboots and Gollum in the Lord Of The Rings films, who here steps into the director’s role for the third time.

Harrelson himself is a gifted character actor, Сериалы 2021 года онлайн no stranger to playing psychos — his performance as the deranged yet charismatic Mickey Knox opposite Juliette Lewis in 1994’s Natural Born Killers is still one of the best bad guys in cinema history.

Venom, which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe belonging to Sony Pictures, was a runaway hit in 2018, earning a staggering $855 million worldwide.

The film featured Tom Hardy as an impassioned news reporter who becomes bonded to an alien entity known as a symbiote, who takes a liking to him and helps him save the world.

Both Hardy as well as Michelle Williams, who played his onscreen love interest in the first film, are back for Venom 2.

In the second film, Harrelson’s character will also bond with an alien symbiote, thereby producing the malevolent Carnage opposite Hardy’s (slightly) more sympathetic Venom.

Another notable actor set to appear in the sequel, slated for release this October, is Moonlight’s Naomie Harris.
